Florida Atlantic’s baseball team used a big inning Thursday morning in the Conference USA tournament to extend its season another day.
FAU scored six runs in the sixth inning to stave off elimination and beat FIU, 8-4. The Owls (34-20-1, 18-12 Conference USA) advanced to another elimination game against either Old Dominion or Rice on Friday at 4 p.m.
In order to win the Conference USA title, FAU must win four straight games in the next three days. The Owls likely need to win the championship to earn a berth in the NCAA tournament.
