How Mansfield Legacy girls soccer took advantage of a weather delay, broke its 'curse' and advanced to state

The thought crossed Mansfield Legacy girls soccer coach Zachary Hallak's mind a couple times on Saturday.

The previous three times Legacy had made the regional tournament it had lost in the semifinal. The idea that the Broncos were "cursed" passed down from year-to-year. Hallak wasn't there for those three playoff losses, but he had heard about the curse. On Saturday he started to believe it.

The Broncos checked out of the Best Western Plus in Wichita Falls on Saturday for their scheduled 12:30 regional final against Burleson Centennial. Weather delayed the start. With no hotel to return to, the team waited in a Walmart parking lot and watched the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast while eating food from Jason's Deli.
