It's commonplace in baseball but rare in soccer that a player gets called up from the minors, but that's what happened to Jacob Lissek last week.
After goalkeeper Chris Seitz injured his hamstring in training, FCD made the call to USL affiliate OKC Energy for someone to back up Jesse Gonzalez.
"I was at some weight training in Oklahoma City, and coach Jimmy [Nielsen] pulled me aside and explained to me the situation that was going on and that I needed to get down to Dallas pretty quickly," Lissek said. "I packed up my stuff and headed down here Tuesday night and was here for training on Wednesday.
