Kellyn Acosta and Matt Hedges were called up to the United States’ 23 man Gold Cup Roster. The players will play a friendly against Ghana on July 1 before Gold Cup play begins on July 8, with a match against Panama in Nashville, Tennessee.
Jesse Gonzalez was not called up to the roster, amidst expectations that he would be. Gonzalez is currently filing paperwork for a one-time switch from Mexico to the United States and the paperwork has not been completed yet.
Hedges, 27, has been called up for the second time in a matter of weeks, as he was called up for the World Cup Qualifier matches against Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico.
