Williams Captains Wales In Serbia Draw

Ashley Williams captained Wales as Chris Coleman’s side earned a 1-1 draw against Serbia in a 2018 World Cup qualifier on Sunday evening.

The Blues defender played 90 minutes, while youngster Gethin Jones was an unused substitute, as Aaron Ramsey’s first-half penalty was cancelled out by Aleksandar Mitrovic’s 74th-minute strike.

Wales currently sit third in the Group D on eight points, four less than Serbia and the Republic of Ireland with four games remaining.

Elsewhere, Aiden McGeady was introduced as a 77th-minute substitute as Ireland also played out a 1-1 draw to consolidate second place in the group.
