“Proud” Under-23s coach David Unsworth praised his players and staff and hailed their title success as further proof that Everton is the perfect place to develop young talent.
The young Blues were crowned Premier League 2 champions on Monday night after Manchester City lost 3-2 to Liverpool, meaning Unsworth’s side cannot be caught at the top of the table with one match left to play.
It has been a memorable campaign for Everton Under-23s who have led the way for the majority of the season, all while young players like Tom Davies, Mason Holgate and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been playing for the first team.
