Leon Osman believes Everton have “gone ahead” of their rivals by promising to be the first Premier League club to visit the East Africa region.
To mark the start of the Club’s new main partnership with gaming giant SportPesa, the Blues are set to play a fixture in Tanzania on 13 July (5pm kick-off local time/3pm BST).
Ronald Koeman’s men will face the winners of the inaugural SportPesa Super Cup, an eight-team tournament featuring four sides from Kenya and four from Tanzania.
And Osman says the contest is a superb opportunity to grow Everton’s reputation in a football-obsessed part of the world.
