I’m sure you are all aware of the City’s bid for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and, as you will have seen in the media, both the proposed new home for Everton at Bramley Moore Dock, and Goodison Park feature in our proposals.
I wanted to make a few things clear to you as you start to hear more about our plans.
Firstly, I want to assure you that the Council is fully committed to working with the Club to deliver what will be an iconic new football stadium at Bramley Moore Dock. The opportunity for Everton’s new home to play a key role in the Commonwealth Games is, however, a very exciting one for our City and the Club; presenting the opportunity to showcase our sporting pedigree, our waterfront and all our City has to offer to audiences right across the world.
