Loan Round-Up: McGeady Rescues Draw

Aiden McGeady was the hero for Preston as he netted a 93rd-minute equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

Having taken the lead through Tom Barkhuizen’s early effort, Simon Grayson’s side fell behind as goals from Elliot Bennett and Craig Conway turned the game on its head.

However, with just seconds of the contest remaining, McGeady was picked out in the box and drove the ball past goalkeeper Jason Steele to score his fourth goal in eight outings.

The result left Preston, for whom Tyias Browning was injured, ninth in the table, five points off the play-off positions with eight league matches left to play.
