Joey Barton has criticised Everton's majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri for 'embarrassing' the club with his alleged pursuit of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone.
The Spaniard was reportedly the Toffees chief’s top target to take over at Goodison Park after they sacked Ronald Koeman.
But Simeone is one of the most coveted coaches in world football, and Barton has told talkSPORT it was ‘nonsense’ to think he would leave one of the top clubs in Spain for Merseyside.
