Edmonton Oilers Training Camp: Lucic Ready to Lead Change

The Edmonton Oilers kicked off their 2016 training camp Thursday, and many of the players are making an impression. Though medical and fitness testing took over the first day, a lot of important things transpired.

For starters, it was the first time Edmonton saw Milan Lucic in action at Roger’s Place. He signed a six-year deal with the Oilers in July and is ready to lead the culture change.

“There has been a lot of change with a new building, new personnel,” Lucic told the media at training camp Thursday. “I think the guys are doing a good job of turning the page and forgetting about what happened last year and the years before that, and focusing on what needs to be done in order to make that change in the right direction heading into this year.
