Edmonton Oilers Could Sign Ethan Bear Shortly, Per Stauffer

The Edmonton Oilers thought that life couldn’t get any better when they drafted Connor McDavid first overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft last year. However, they had one late pick in the fifth round, and he has gone from a late-round pick-up to one of the top prospective superstars. Ethan Bear has surpassed all expectations.

The 5-foot-11, 198-pound defenseman has been absolutely senesational for the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds. In the regular season, he picked up 65 points (19 goals, 46 assists) in just 69 games. That success would carry over into the postseason.

More from Prospects

He worked to bring his team extremely far, tallying 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 18 playoff games.
