Edmonton Oilers 2016 Players in Review: Leon Draisaitl

Though the Edmonton Oilers didn’t have the exact season they had hoped for, many of their players had seasons that were exceptional, or were below average. Today, we will review Leon Draisaitl‘s sophomore season.

Draisaitl’s sophomore season did not start off the way he would have hoped. After being sent back to the Junior leagues last year at the 39-game mark, Draisaitl was a man on a mission to prove he was an NHL player. He led the Kelowna Rockets to the Memorial Cup and was named tournament MVP.

Draisaitl worked on his skating over the summer in Germany and felt he was ready to compete for a job on the big club during the pre-season.
