YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University Head Women's Basketball Coach Fred Castro announced, July 5, that Jayla Russ (Arlington, Wash.-Arlington) has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Eagles for the 2016-17 campaign. The 6-foot-1 freshman will add depth to the Green and White's frontline in Castro's first season at the helm of the EMU women's basketball program.
"We are ecstatic to get a player of Jayla's caliber this late in the recruiting process," stated Castro. "I have had the opportunity to watch Jayla play for three years while in Washington.
