YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University softball team spent Saturday, Sept. 24, volunteering at the Special Olympics Michigan State Fall Games presented by Real Estate One Charitable Foundation in Canton, Mich. Over 1,600 Special Olympics Michigan athletes participated in the event.
"I am thrilled and we are honored as a team to be able to volunteer for an organization such as the Special Olympics," Head Coach Melissa Gentile said. "I think volunteering at the Fall Games made a significant impact on our athletes, as they saw the passion and energy that the Special Olympians live their lives by.
