EMU Student-Athletes Turn in Another Award Winning Season

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — It was another record-setting season in both athletics and academics for Eastern Michigan University student-athletes in 2016-17.

The Eagles finished near the top in the battle for the Mid-American Conference all-sports championships. The women's athletic program turned in a fourth-place showing in the race for the Jacoby Trophy, while the men's athletic program also finished fourth in the battle for the Reese Trophy.

It marked just the third time since 1999-2000 that Eastern Michigan placed inside the top-four spots in both standings. Last year, EMU was the runner-up for the Jacoby while taking fourth in the Reese standings.
