ECU’s losing streak reaches five games

The turning point in the game for ECU (18-13, 0-4 AAC) seemed to be when starting pitcher Chris Holba left the game in the second inning after being hit by a Jake Scheiner line drive. That line drive was the only hit Holba gave up, as he quickly retired the side in the first inning.

With Holba leaving the game because of injury, freshman Jake Agnos was brought on to the mound. This wasn’t the first time Agnos was called into action on short notice, as he replaced Evan Kruczynski in a game against Western Carolina after Kruczynski took a line drive to the ankle and pitched five no-hit innings.
