The No. 18 ranked East Carolina University baseball team defeated Marist University 10-5 on Sunday to cap off its weekend sweep.
The Pirates (12-5) started the week with two tough games on the road against No. 7 ranked Mississippi State University (15-1), and No. 10 ranked Ole Miss (12-3). ECU lost to Mississippi State 4-1 on Tuesday and defeated Ole Mississippi University on Wednesday 3-2 . The team then started its weekend series against Marist on Friday, a game in which they did not let the opponent score any runs, dominating with a final score of 5-0. On Saturday, during the second game of the series, it was a much more competitive one, as it would go to 12 innings, where they team would secure a 4-3 win.
