FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Drake University softball team defeated SIUE 3-2 Sunday, Feb. 24 on the final day of the Razorback Invitational. Drake (10-4) went 5-0 this weekend in Arkansas, including a win over host and No. 12 Arkansas on Saturday.
The Bulldogs scored all three of their runs in the third inning. Mandi Roemmich (West Des Moines, Iowa) and Macy Johnson (Winterset, Iowa) drew back-to-back one-out walks. Sophomore Libby Ryan (Mount Vernon, Iowa) then singled down the right field line, her fifth hit in the tournament, to score Roemmich.
