EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Aidan Megally scored a golden goal for Loyola in a 1-0 victory over the Drake University men's soccer team Friday, Nov. 9 in a Missouri Valley Conference Tournament semifinal match at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
Less than two minutes away from penalty kicks, Drake (7-7-3) had its 2018 season end after Megally played a ball from Alec Lasinski inside the box and shot it into the back of the net past a diving Jared Brown (Aurora, Ontario) in the 108th minute. Loyola (10-6-2) advanced to Sunday's title game where it will play regular season champion, Central Arkansas, which beat Missouri State in penalty kicks, 5-4, in the other semifinal match.
