DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University volleyball team handled visiting Evansville, 3-1, Monday, Sept. 24, evening at the Knapp Center to even the Bulldogs' Missouri Valley Conference record at 1-1.
Drake (12-4, 1-1 MVC) was led by Cathryn Cheek's (Coppell, Texas) 17 kills on 30 attempts to hit .533 as the Bulldogs won the match by set scores of 25-11, 17-25, 25-12, 25-20. As a team, Drake registered 55 kills and hit .344. Grace Schofield (Mundelein, Ill.) and Natalie Fry (Allen, Texas) each had double-figure kills as Schofield added 11 while Fry had a season-high 10 kills on 16 attempts with no errors.
