Warwick Saupold went five innings for the Mud Hens, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits with five strikeouts. He cruised through the first five frames, but ran into trouble in the sixth, when he allowed three Bulls to reach base before being lifted from the game. Reliever Joe Mantiply allowed all three of those runners to score, along with one more in a four-run inning that would prove to be enough offense for Durham. Chad Huffman hit his 12th home run of the season, a solo shot in the fourth inning.
