The Red Wings exploded for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning, chasing starter Thad Weber and reliever Drake Britton from the game before the Mud Hens could retire the side. Toledo answered with three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning, but could not mount enough of a comeback. Anthony Gose and Argenis Diaz each drove in a pair of runs for the Mud Hens. Manager Lloyd McClendon was ejected in hilarious fashion for arguing balls and strikes.
