Sharp: Tigers' bats finally healthy, but is it too late?

Nick Castellanos could’ve flown to Detroit from Tampa Tuesday without need of a plane. Gone for 46 games due to a fractured pinky finger, the Tigers’ third baseman couldn’t hide his excitement as he hurried to Comerica Park, changed into his baseball gear in record time and got into the Tigers’ dugout in the sixth inning of their blowout win over Cleveland.

“I went up to (Brad Ausmus) and said to him that I think I can pinch hit,” said Castellanos. “He said they were trying to win the game. I didn’t think it was that funny.”

Another example of Ausmus sarcasm skipping into the dirt.
