The ups and downs of Daniel Norris, the potential of what he can be and the pitfalls that continue to hinder his progress, were all on display Wednesday night.
The young Detroit Tigers left-hander took the mound against the Kansas City Royals with his usual array of electric offerings. His fastball biting, his slider breaking, showing enough command over the first few innings.
But then, the fourth inning rolled around.
“It’s kind of been the same story with Daniel Norris since his arrival,” Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said.
