Michael Fulmer, Toledo farmhands lift Tigers past Twins, 13-4, today

MINNEAPOLIS – The Tigers pounded out 13 runs on 13 hits.

The Tigers improved to 10-8 with a 13-4 win over the Twins today at Target Field. It was the first time this season the Tigers have won by more than three runs.

The Tigers took a 2-1 lead on a two-run home run by Alex Avila in the second inning.

Victor Martinez finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs and one run scoreds. He drove in the first of five runs in the Tigers' third with a one-out single. Martinez added an RBI double – his first extra-base hit of the season —as part of a three-run sixth.
