Jordan Zimmermann, Justin Upton help Tigers stay hot, beat Twins 4-1

MINNEAPOLIS -- The wind was blowing in hard from leftfield, with gusts of up to 25 m.p.h., but it didn’t matter, not to Justin Upton’s first-inning swing.

The middle game of a three-game set between the Tigers and Twins started the way the first game ended — with hard hits.

And none on this windy and overcast and cool day at Target Field was hit harder than Upton’s laser to leftfield.

Yes, the leftfielder said he knew it was gone off the bat.

“It was one of those ones that was a no-doubter,” manager Brad Ausmus said.
