Hamm cruises for the ‘Caps, while Bennett Lee’s first pro homer powers Lakeland

The Hens lineup provided plenty of offense in this one, but a bullpen game saw them a bit overstretched with Matt Manning called up to Detroit. Presumably Ty Madden, who would’ve been on pace to start this game as his first with the Hens, will make his Triple-A debut on Wednesday, keeping Manning’s spot in their rotation intact.

The Hens struck first when Buddy Kennedy led off with a walk. Justyn-Henry Malloy doubled him to third where a Jace Jung sac fly brought him home. Dillon Dingler doubled home Justice Bigbie in the fourth for the Hens next run, but it only tied the game at 2-2 after Sean Guenther and Brenan Hanifee allowed Columbus runs in the second and third inning.
