Fulmer on DL with left oblique strain

CHICAGO -- Matt Carpenter had a day at Wrigley Field.

Carpenter blasted three homers and a pair of doubles during the first six innings of Friday's game against the Cubs. Carpenter's five extra-base hits tied an MLB record shared by 10 other MLB players. He also joins Kris Bryant as the only players in baseball history to have three home runs and two doubles in a game. Bryant accomplished the feat on June 27, 2016, at Cincinnati.
