Former Tigers C Alex Avila has found a home, and it isn't far away.
The White Sox announced they have signed Avila to a one-year, $2.5 million deal.
Avila, 29, hit .191 in 67 games with the Tigers last season.
"Alex gives us a veteran presence behind the plate who provides solid defense and a productive left-handed bat," White Sox senior vice president and general manager Rick Hahn said.
