Daniel Norris shelled in the fourth as Tigers drilled by Royals, 8-2

The ups and downs of Daniel Norris, the potential of what he can be and the pitfalls that continue to hinder his progress, it was all on display Wednesday night.

The young Detroit Tigers left-hander took the mound against the Kansas City Royals with his usual array of electric offerings. His fastball biting, his slider breaking, in command through the first few innings.

But then, the fourth inning rolled around. And once again, the game rolled out of his control. The Royals blasted back-to-back monster home runs, and the Tigers couldn’t play catch-up in front of a quiet Comerica Park crowd in an 8-2 loss.
