Toronto – Nothing of significance, at least for the Tigers, changed in Sunday's series finale at Rogers Centre that saw the Blue Jays finish a three-game weekend sweep with a 9-2 mashing of Detroit's beleaguered baseball team.
Alfredo Simon was all but pulverized by Toronto's tough-guy lineup that assailed the Tigers' starter with four home runs -- from Edwin Encarnacion (four in the past two games), Josh Donaldson, Russell Martin and Kevin Pillar.
The Jays have been crushing teams in August and outscored the Tigers, 29-5, in a weekend romp that has now seen Detroit lose nine of its last 10 games and plummet to 60-70 on the season.
