DETROIT -- It was May 19, 2015, and Joe Jimenez and the West Michigan White Caps were in Bowling Green, Ky.
Then a 20-year-old reliever for the Detroit Tigers Class A farm club, Jimenez entered the game in a jam with two outs in the eighth inning.
Bowling Green sent up a pinch-hitter who lined a ball to center field that escaped the diving attempt of White Caps outfielder Derek Hill. Moments later, the batter had circled the bases for a three-run, inside-the-park home run.
The inning wasn't over. A single. Another single. Another single. A passed ball.
