Verlander rocked as Indians sweep Tigers, again, 9-3

All Justin Verlander could do was throw his hands up.

The ball was in the air, headed over the fence, the fourth ball headed over the fence in the fifth inning, and the Detroit Tigers’ right-handed ace had no answers.

And for the ninth consecutive game, they didn’t have any answers for the Cleveland Indians.

Verlander couldn’t solve the red-hot Tribe, which has won nine consecutive games after a 9-3 beating of the Tigers this afternoon at Comerica Park.

Verlander was hit historically hard, tying a career-high with eight earned runs allowed on nine hits.
