The Grand Rapids had luck on their side, claiming a 4-3 overtime win they had no business winning. After a good first period, the team only managed six shots on goal over the last 40 minutes. This has been a disturbing pattern as of late and not typical of a Todd Nelson coached team, where the team has a great first period and then goes to sleep. The win was Nelson’s 300th AHL victory, moving him into 20th all time.
