Henrik Zetterberg has his preferences when it comes to working.

“I'd rather play than practice,” he said.

He’s about to get his wish. The Detroit Red Wings face a unique schedule quirk beginning Sunday when they embark on playing three times in three days: At home against Minnesota, then Monday and Tuesday at Carolina.

It is unheard of in the NHL but stems from the Dec. 19 game at Carolina that ended up being postponed because of unacceptable ice conditions at PNC Arena.

The Wings signed off on Monday's make-up date because at least it means no extra travel.
