The Detroit Red Wings have been searching for a puck-moving top-three defenseman for some time, preferably a right-handed shot.
A good, young one might be on the move, one with metro Detroit ties.
Jacob Trouba, a 22-year-old restricted free agent, has requested a trade from the Winnipeg Jets.
Kurt Overhardt, Trouba's agent, released the following statement on Saturday:
"Our client, Jacob Trouba, will not be attending the Winnipeg Jets NHL training camp. Since May, we have been working with the Jets management in an effort to facilitate a trade of Jacob's rights. Both parties continue to work on this matter.
