The Detroit Red Wings has reassigned Filip Zadina, David Pope, Givani Smith, Harri Sateri, Vili Saarijarvi and Dominic Turgeon all to the Grand Rapids Griffins today. In addition, the Red Wings have placed Matt Puempel, Luke Witkowski and Dylan Mclrath on waivers. If the trio clears, they are expected to report to the Griffins.
Jonathan Ericsson has suffered a setback and is expected to miss Thursday’s home opener. Niklas Kronwall has a “tweak” and is now joined the list of clipped defensemen all labeled questionable.
