Players for the Detroit Red Wings have taken to social media to voice their support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Veterans Justin Abdelkader and Jimmy Howard were among those who posted black squares on their respective Instagram accounts Tuesday. The campaign, spearheaded by music executives Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang, was designed to provoke accountability and change in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man who died May 25 in Minneapolis after a police officer knelt on his neck.
