Mitch Callahan’s career with the Detroit Red Wings organization has been extended.

The team announced today that he has been re-signed for one year. The contract is worth $600,000 at the NHL level and $175,000 in the minors.

He plays an aggravating style of game and is known for being willing to mix it up. He gained fame across the hockey world in 2014, when he tweeted a picture snapped after a puck to his face blew out 10 teeth and broke his jaw.

Callahan, 25 in August, has appeared once for the Wings, during the 2013-14 season.
