Detroit Red Wings acquire 'NHL prospect' Dylan Sadowy from Sharks

The Detroit Red Wings have acquired prospect Dylan Sadowy from the San Jose Sharks.

Assistant general manager Ryan Martin described Sadowy as an "NHL prospect." Sadowy is turning pro this year and will be at Wings training camp in September.

Today's transaction saw the Wings send a third-round pick in 2017 to San Jose in exchange for the 20-year-old forward. The Sharks originally selected Sadowy in the third round (81st overall) of the 2014 NHL draft.

Sadowy, 6-feet-1 and 195 pounds, played for the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League in 2012-13, until he was traded to the Barrie Colts this past season.
