Red Wings shuffle lines, defense pairs for Game 3 as Justin Abdelkader, Brendan Smith return to lineup

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings will have a different look in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal playoff series against the Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday at Joe Louis Arena.

Forward Justin Abdelkader will return to the lineup after missing six games with a hand injury. He'll replace Stephen Weiss.

On defense, Brendan Smith is back in, replacing rookie Alexey Marchenko. This enables the club to reunite Danny DeKeyser and Kyle Quincey, its steadiest pairing this season.

This will lead to several changes with line combinations and defense pairs:

Justin Abdelkader-Henrik Zetterberg-Gustav Nyquist

Darren Helm-Pavel Datsyuk-Tomas Tatar

Joakim Andersson-Riley Sheahan-Tomas Jurco

Drew Miller-Luke Glendening-Landon Ferraro

Stephen Weiss, Teemu Pulkkinen and Daniel Cleary will be healthy scratches.
