Former Red Wings All-Star defenseman Leo Reise dies

Former Detroit Red Wings defenseman Leo Reise Jr. died Sunday, at the age of 93. The team announced that he died in Hamilton, Ontario.

Reise played 340 games for the Red Wings in 1946-52 and recorded 82 points (21 goals, 61 assists) and 251 penalty minutes.

The Stoney Creek, Ontario, native was a four-time NHL All-Star and was a key component of the team's Stanley Cup championships in 1950 and 1952.

Reise totaled 494 NHL games over a nine-season career with the Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers.
