Utah Jazz players infected by COVID-19 stayed at Detroit hotel

Detroit — The Utah Jazz stayed at a downtown Detroit hotel when the team played the Detroit Pistons Saturday, Mayor Mike Duggan confirmed Thursday.

Four days later, Oklahoma health officials tested Rudy Gobert on Wednesday and determined he had been infected. Wednesday's game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder was canceled.

Officials then tested the rest of the team, according to a Jazz statement released Thursday. All-Star player Donovan Mitchell also tested presumptively positive for the virus.

After the findings, members of the National Basketball Association team were put in quarantine.
