Two leaders go down as Drive face fresh challenge after impressive run

GRAND RAPIDS -The Grand Rapids Drive's impressive November just ran into a potential hurdle for December.

The Drive, after winning three in a row and five of eight to climb to the top of NBA G League's Central Division standings, were hit with a pair of injuries Wednesday in a 109-94 loss to the Lakeland Magic at the DeltaPlex Arena.

Starting point guard Speedy Smith and center Jon Horford , both veteran leaders, went out within five minutes of each other in the second quarter, leaving the Drive (5-4) on the short end against the Magic (3-6) in easily the most lopsided loss this season.
