Pistons waive Lorenzo Brown, keep Ray McCallum

The Pistons have decided to keep Ray McCallum and waive Lorenzo Brown, according to Keith Langlois.

It was a close battle to see who would get the Pistons’ third point guard spot on the roster. An added bonus to that job is that they will be the backup to Ish Smith to start the season while Reggie Jackson recovers from his treatment for knee tendinitis.

The Pistons had until 5 p.m. today to make their decision, so they obviously thought long and hard about this.

McCallum averaged 5 points per game, 3 rebounds per game and 4 assists per game during the preseason.
