Van Gundy had a shooting coach in his budget last season but the compressed time frame for restructuring the front office and coaching staff during summer 2014 led him to delay that hire.
“We had talked about it and saw the value in it a year ago,” he said.
The Pistons plan to hire a shooting coach this offseason, and it seems like a good investment.
Better late than never.
But this shows one of the problems I have with hiring someone as president and coach.
