Marvin Jones always wanted to play football growing up. But if he hadn’t, he might be making music right now.
Jones, who signed a five-year, $40-million free agent deal with the Detroit Lions this off-season, started singing solos in his church choir when he was 3 years old and, by the time he was in seventh grade, he said he had a chance to earn his own music deal.
“I had a couple auditions and stuff like that,” Jones said after the Lions finished the first week of organized team activities Thursday. “I just never really wanted to go.
