Another really interesting prospect in this year’s 2024 NFL Draft class is University of Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry.
In some ways, McKinstry’s college football arc can be compared to former Louisiana State University and current Houston Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr’s. Both started as true freshman on elite SEC defenses, which is a massive accomplishment by itself.
After all, current Detroit Lions defensive back Brian Branch was another true freshman that started for legendary coach Nick Saban in Tuscaloosa, and he is doing pretty well for himself in the league so far.
