Quarterback Dan Orlovsky’s time with the Detroit Lions appears to be over.
Orlovsky said on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday morning that, the “Lions let me know they’re going in a different direction with Jake Rudock” as starter Matthew Stafford’s backup next season.
Orlovsky, who has spent a combined seven seasons over two stints with the Lions, hinted at his departure in a tweet last week.
Orlovsky, 33, played in two games last season, going 7-for-17 passing for 63 yards. Drafted by the Lions, he played in Detroit from 2005 to 2008 before stops in Houston, Indianapolis and Tampa Bay before returning in 2014.
